WHEN GOD CALLS —- When He called me to leave my comfort zone for a deeper academic dive into ministry, I never knew the journey (and long nights) that awaited. I’m reminded tonight, as I sit here on another late and quiet campus night, the beautiful words of the apostle James, “I count it ALL joy” (v 1:2). — No matter where you are tonight, count it ALL joy. Remember, His ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55:9). Trust Him. —
THE FINISH LINE! Change is imminent. We need it, we want it, we start... but then... we grow weary, tempted to quit. If you’re in a change of seasons, or just about to enter one, this message is for you. “The end of a matter is far better than its beginning” -Ecclesiastes 7:8.
We may have different schedules and daily agendas, but we are all busy. Every ‘next level’ will demand a new level of work ethic and faith. So then, hold fast to the promise of Matthew 6: — “FOR HE KNOWS WHAT YOU DO IN PRIVATE, AND HE WILL REWARD YOU.” He. Will. Reward. You. —
Change is hard. Lasting change? Even harder. If there is something you’ve been struggling with, a habit, a lifestyle, a certain situation, and you need answers on how to turn it around with lasting results - this message is for YOU —
INTERRUPTION —- Wherever this finds you (I’m in studio writing our #wednesdaywisdom sermon for tomorrow), let this promise engulf you in hope: —- “Have you not heard? The Lord your God will not grow weary or tired, and His understanding and mercy has no limit. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; soaring on the wings of eagles. They will run and not grow weary, for God is with them” -Adapted from Isaiah 40:28-31.
COMING —- If you’ve had a tough week or are in a trying season, everything feels like a challenge, be encouraged! This too shall pass, says the Lord, just you wait and see... —- “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds...” Phil. 4:6-7.
The sun is out, (extra hot) coffee in hand, no winter jacket... life is good! When we smile at life’s “little things,” life smiles back. Enjoy the fruits of your labor today and watch them grow~

This picture was taken while on a LIVE radio interview (about #mimiministries and our #wednesdaywisdom chats), laptop out simultaneously writing for an upcoming podcast, responding to emails and texts, all while navigating through a blizzard after a photoshoot across state lines (no, I was not driving). Ever thought to yourself, “How can I do all of this?” Remember, God will never give us more than we can handle. No matter how crazy it gets- let us count our blessings and always believe we are more than equipped for whatever comes our way~ #faith #leadership #motivation
It’s been nineteen days of fasting. In essence, 19 days of prayer. No coffee, only decaf herbal teas and water. No wheat, sugar or animal products of any kind. Rice, beans, fruits and veggies only. This is my fifth year on the #danielfast and every year I’m tested- mentally, emotionally, physically, and especially spiritually. Around day nineteen, I start to see a finish line- a sparkly reflection of clarity, insight, and deeper wisdom. I’m refocused, energized and eerily aware of what matters in this life. You see, fasting is a total heart transformation and re-balancing of mind, body, and Spirit. A restoration that extends far beyond a 21 day threshold. For those of you with me this year, I’ve been cheering you on the whole time. For the rest of you, maybe next year ;). My alarm is set for an 11:59pm Sunday night latte run with an extra shot of espresso. First we fast, get woke, and then we celebrate. When you step out in faith, let the process change you. I worked out more than eight hours ago- and I’m still in high gear. From one meeting to the next, one call to the next, one paper to the next, one commitment to the next, the day continues. While “going through the motions” may seem random and redundant, it’s not. Every step is a step closer. One more piece laid for the foundation of your purpose. Who’s starting to feel festive? A favorite time of year for so many reasons. First, Thanksgiving- all about gratitude (and cooking and eating!). We have SO much to be grateful for.
